Keeping a Crown in Good Shape

A well-cared-for crown will typically hold up for around 10 years, sometimes longer, though it really comes down to how you treat it. A few habits go a long way:

• Brush twice daily, and don't skip flossing around the crown itself
• Work an antibacterial rinse into your routine
• Skip the ice-chewing and don't use your teeth as a bottle opener
• Keep your regular cleanings and checkups on the calendar
